Alta Theatre Under New Management

Box Elder News, 22 January 1914
The Alta Theatre has been leased by Mr. H. N. Bowring to Mr. J. E. Ryan of Salt Lake City, the transfer taking place on Monday of this week.

Mr. Ryan has had a number of year's experience in the show business and knows every detail of the game. He has lined up for the same pictures that appear in the Rex Theatre at Salt Lake City, receiving them direct from that theatre, each day, sot that he will have a change of program every night. The pictures go from the film company direct to the Rex and then come to the Alta in this city and from here they will go to the Butte every morning and show there before being thrown on the screen in other parts of this state.

The Cort attractions will appear as they are booked and the road shows will be catered to so that the patrons of the house may have the pleasure of witnessing the same high class attractions that have been appearing here in the recent past.

Mr. Ryan has added a hanging electric sign to the front of the theatre and he will make other improvements as they are needed from time to time. He has a family which he will remove to this city as soon as he can get the theatre started off nicely and can locate suitable apartments for a home.
