After being closed for the past six and one-half years the Gem theatre in Panguitch is being reopened Friday by Mr. and Mrs. Rick Swanger.

 

They have completed a full scale fix-up and clean-up of the building which includes a new roof, new ceiling, repaired floor, cleaning and fixing of the seats, painting inside and outside, new carpet, remodeling of the snack-bar, repairing and painting of the markee, cleaning and disinfecting the whole building, installing a new sound-system, repairing and overhauling the projector system.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Swanger have operated a theatre in Salt Lake City.

 

Showing at the theatre for the opening night will be two adventure movies, "Brother of the Wind" and "The Adventures of Frontier Fremont".  The theatre will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
