Almost Angels Features Choir Actors

Deseret News, 22 September 1962, page 8A
Walt Disney's "Almost Angels," which will have its world premiere next week at the Uptown Theater and Oak Hills Drive-in, features the Vienna Boys Choir and a talented cast of young actors.

The real-life drama of the singers combines with the stirring tale of one determined boy who fights his way to the top.

Featuring the real members of the choir, "Almost Angels" stars Peter Weck, Vincent Winter and Sean Scully with Hans Holt, Denis Gilmore, Hennie Scott, Fritz Eckhardt and Bruni Lobel.

All are outstanding European actors, and Weck, who plays the choirmaster, was a choir boy himself until his voice changed.

Besides some beautiful choral music of Strauss numbers and selections by other noted composers, the movie features a Schubert song since Schubert at one time also was a member of the choir.

"Almost Angels" will be coupled with "Lady and the Tramp."
