Experienced Contractor Completes Structure In Entirety

Outstanding as an accomplishment in building work has been the construction of the Peery Egyptian theater in record time, as handled by F. Berne, the Ogden general contractor. Every phase of the theater building work and finishing has been under his direction, from the time that places for foundation walls were dug until the final decorative work.

F. Berne, the general contractor who has handled the vast task of building the structure, is known in Ogden as a man experienced in the handling of large contracts and the successful completion of them. When he first came to Ogden he took an important part in the building of the Globe mills. Later he built the large structure of the Ogden-Utah Knitting company. Last spring and summer he handled a most difficult task in remodeling the main floor of the Paine & Hurst block – and when he finished the task the entire building was declared by builders to be much more substantial than ever before. He secure the contract for the Peery Egyptian theater late in the fall and said that he would use every endeavor to have it under roof before the winter stopped work. By taking advantage of all weather conditions, by using every means to build despite untoward conditions, he secured that progress which brought the final completion on the first of July, an important achievement in building work. Added to this has been the commendation given the building by official construction work that was done, assuring the absolute safety and stability.
