The University Mall Cinemas, the former Cineplex Odeon 4-screen theater at University Mall in Orem, was reopened on 4 April 2003 as a dollar theater. "Dollar movies are popular in Utah County because it is home to large families and poor college students, says Don Clifton, owner of University Mall Cinemas. He is confident his discount four-plex can co-exist with the immensely popular Movies 8, which is just a few miles away."
