Panguitch Man Seriously Hurt in Auto Accident

Richfield Reaper, 30 April 1925, page 1

 O. E. McIff and John Excell of Panguitch, returning home Sunday morning from Richfield had an accident near the Jesse Willes home in Joseph which resulted in a severe injury to Mr. Excell.  At the point where the accident happened, Mr. McIff, the driver of the car, tried to pass another automobile, drove too far down the embankment to the left and in attempting to regain the road his auto overturned, throwing him out from his seat and pining his companion under the car.  Mr. Hardy of Marysvale arrived on the scene in the critical moment, gave assistance and brought the two men back to Richfield for medical treatment.  Mr. McIff was only injured in a minor degree while Mr. Excell sustained a serious chest shock resulting in considerable hemorrhage in the lungs.  Dr. J. J. Steiner gave first aid and had the patient transported to the Richfield hospital where he now is getting along as well as can be expected under the circumstances.
