Summary:

Rodgers Memorial Theatre

The Rodgers Memorial Theatre seated 250 and was located in a strip mall, between Dick's market and an old Deseret Industries.  The theater had “low ceilings, uncomfortable chairs and lack of much-needed space”

"Coming into the old Rodgers, people would walk into the old strip mall and think, 'Oh gosh,' but they'd leave saying, 'For being a tiny hole-in-the-wall, that was a pretty darned good production,'" said Scott VanDyke, a longtime board member.

Davis Center for the Performing Arts

On 12 February 2011, Rodgers Memorial Theatre opened its first show, “Hairspray,” as the resident company of the new Davis Center for the Performing Arts.  The 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art theater complex had a gala opening night, with a ribbon cutting and food donated by surrounding restaurants.  The auditorium has 516 seats.

Ron Russell, Centerville mayor, said, "This building has been the passion and dream of a number of people in both Centerville and Bountiful for many years.  There is a lot of history behind trying to put together a project to build a building like this."
