Lehi voters rejected a general-obligation bond measure in November 1997, which would have funded a $17 million recreation center and a 1,000 seat theater.
The Lehi Arts Council plans to build a performing arts and teaching center on city property adjacent to I-15 on South Millpond Drive. Originally the council was hoping for an $11 million gift from a Salt Lake philanthropist, but the donor wants the project to be more of a community effort and will “fill in the gaps.”
