Tuacahn season starts July 11

(Theater), 1 May 2020

IVINS, Utah — In the spirit of caution and yet with a desire to serve our mission to edify and inspire the human spirit, Tuacahn is moving forward with plans for its 2020 season. With changes, the season proceeds under careful consideration to input from public health officials.

“There isn’t any part of society that hasn’t been impacted by these unprecedented circumstances,” says Scott S. Anderson, artistic director for Tuacahn. “We recognize the shifts we announce today will affect many people and we are striving to minimize the discomfort these adjustments will cause.”

Beginning July 11 Tuacahn’s 25th anniversary year will feature a shortened season including the popular “tale as old as time” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast along with the swashbuckling story of revenge and redemption in The Count of Monte Cristo opening July 18. These two outdoor shows run through Oct 24 as previously planned. The beloved family musical Annie, a previously planned outdoor production, is now moved to the Indoor Hafen Theatre, running from November 6 through January 2.

“Even with all the uncertainty, we are grateful for the chance to bring these productions to life,” Anderson says. “As long as people are safe, live theater is a great way for people to momentarily escape from the reality of life, to be entertained, and to process different emotions while holding on to hope.”

Two previously scheduled Indoor Hafen Theatre productions, Smokey Joe’s Café and A Christmas Carol have been canceled from the 2020 season. All current tickets for shows affected by these programming changes will be honored with exchange to the new dates or with exchange into another show in this season.

In order to offer the greatest flexibility in purchasing tickets, all exchange fees will be waived for the 2020 season. In addition, Tuacahn’s new flexible purchasing policy allows patrons to buy tickets now to any Broadway show — locking in the best price — and choose their attendance dates later.

Current season package holders will have first access to select their show dates during the month of May and beyond.  Non-season package ticket holders can fill out the change request form at www.tuacahn.org/changes. Box office agents will reach out to non-package holders, beginning in June to aid with exchanges.

To support our patrons, artists, volunteers and staff, new health and safety measures are in place. These measures include additional hand sanitizer on site, strategically spaced seating, credit card only payments and more.

For the past 25 years, the best part about Tuacahn is the stories told on stage that create memories for everyone who attends. Don’t miss the opportunity to let Tuacahn’s stories be part of yours once again.
