Benefit showings of "2001: A Space Odyssey" will be sponsored by two area groups on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

The Sugar House Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Wednesday showing, beginning at 8:30 p.m. in the Villa Theater, announced S. Calvin Sorensen, chairman of a chamber committee.

 

Tickets may be obtained in the chamber offices, 2024 1100 East, he said.

 

On Thursday, the Utah Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation will sponsor a second showing at 8:30 p.m. Former Congress man William A. Dawson, chairman of the event, will be present.

 

Funds received will be used for arthritis research, a spokesman said. Tickets may be obtained from the Utah Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, 1935 S. Main, or from Mr. Dawson.

 

The public is invited to both showings.
