Theaters Honor Couple For Admissions Mark

Salt Lake Tribune, 10 November 1958, page 27

The 115,000th ticket to "South Pacific" brought a surprise to Mrs. Ernest McTee, 3093-1640 East, when purchased at the Villa Theater box office. She was presented with four choice seats for another evening performance and a festive evening. Her husband and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Max Munk, 6824 Brookhill Dr., made up the foursome.

A limousine called for the group. They dined at Hotel Utah's Empire Room. Following dinner they enjoyed "South Pacific," record-breaking Rodgers & Hammerstein musical hit, at the theater.

The vent was the first viewing of "South Pacific" by the McTees and their friends. Coming from Rock Springs, Wyo., they have been Salt Lake Residents for the past two years.

An electrician for the Union Pacific Railroad, Mr. McTee admitted that his 17-year-old son had been trying to persuade the family to accompany him to "South Pacific."

Mrs. McTee, however, was happy that they had waited, becoming recipients of the "South Pacific" celebration, arranged by John Denman, city manager of Fox International Theatres in honor of the 115,000th patron.
