After due consideration of all the facts in the premises, the directors of the Peoples Opera House & Mercantile Co. have decided to make a voluntary assignment of their business for the benefit of their creditors; believing that it will be for the best interests of both creditors and stockholders to turn the business over to a friend knowing that we have sufficient assets to cover all liabilities and save something for the original stockholders, which might not be possible in case of a forced assignment.
