Sunset Drive-In Will Open Friday; Vogue Dressed Up
Vernal Express, 15 August 1957, page 1
The grand opening of the all-new Sunset Drive-In theater has been planned for Friday, reported Deward and Alson Shiner, operators.
Highlight of the new drive-in is a 21-ton screen. The giant is 60 feet high and 100 feet wide and will take care of both wide screen and cinemascope projections.
In addition to the new screen, a building has been erected to house the new projection and sound equipment.
The Vogue theater, recently leased by the Shiner brothers, has just completed a redecoration program. The theater has been painted and new carpet has been installed. New linoleum has been laid in the rest rooms.
Mr. Deward Shiner said Wednesday that the Shiner Theaters plan to increase first-run movies and some will be shown as early as in the larger cities.
