[Scenic Highway Shows Moving Pictures to Tourists]
Garfield County News, 5 February 1926, page 8
F. D. B. Gay, secretary of the Scenic Highway, with headquarters at the Newhouse hotel at Salt Lake City, was in Panguitch Wednesday, calling at the News office. He informed us that he has now made arrangements with the Newhouse hotel whereby they will use a room in their building and will give a picture show free each evening for the tourists this summer, and will show them scenes, moving pictures and enlarged pictures of maps. The Little Newhouse Theatre will have a seating capacity of 250, and all tourists will be told during the day of the place, and that valuable information can be received at this place. We believe a move of this kind will do a lot of real good.
Be sure and attend the play given by the North ward M. I. A. on Friday evening, February 5, at Social Hall. This performance of “The Rug of Truth” will be a real effort and well worth your time and the price. The performers have now been rehearsing their parts for over two months on account of the epidemic, and are leter perfect. It is for a good cause and should be well patronized.
