City Postpones Theater Ruling
Deseret News, 31 July 1958, page B2
The Salt Lake City Commission Thursday held in abeyance an order suspending for 60 days the license of the State Theater, 228 S. State.
The commission took the action after William J. Cayias, attorney for the theater owners, appeared to protest the suspension and asked for a public hearing.
A public hearing in the matter was set for Aug. 19 at 10:30 a.m. in city commission chambers.
Mr. Cayias said it would be unfair to deprive the owners of the use of their property without a hearing with respect to the complaint or charge as made by Chief of Police W. Cleon Skousen.
