Summary:
The Racquet Club condo association sold its recreation center to Park City to serve as a 600-seat screening venue for the Sundance Film Festival. In 2008, residents concerned about noise and glaring lights gathered forty signatures and asked the city council to hold the festival to the city's noise ordinance requirements. The council agreed at first, but reversed its decision after negotiating an agreement with the festival to screen films at the club earlier in the evening. A phone line was also set up for residents with concerns or complaints. The Racquet Club and the Park City public library are the only two venues the festival uses that are located in residential areas.
