The Main theatre constructed at a cost of $35,000 will open with its first picture Sunday, according to an announcement elsewhere in this issue by Thos Karren and Francis Feltch, proprietors. Open House will be held Saturday for the public to inspect the new building and its equipment.
With a seating capacity of 404 has a crash streamlined finish and colors blending from buff to dark brown. Seats with green Mohair upholstery are arranged in three sections. The floor has a maximum pitch to provide the best possible vision of the screen. The foyer and isles are covered with deep carpet.
RCA sound equipement is used with a 12 x 16 highly reflective screen. Multi cellular louid speakers have been installed with insure uniform sound distribution to all seats in the building, according to the proprietors. Two Kaplan projectors have been placed in the projection booth.
The California white stucco building is trimmed with silver white at the top and black carrara is at the approach to the foyer. The foyer is illuminated with light from indirect Neon lights.
The formal opening of the new theatre will be held Sunday. Tenrey Johnston will be operator; Mary Duke cashier; and J. Thoral Stringham and Harmond Joiley, ushers.
