Internationally celebrated U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion Chris Proctor will once again bring his unique brand of guitar mastery to the historic Casino Star Theatre in Gunnison. Proctor’s program of spectacular finger work and haunting effects will take place on Thursday, October 14, at 7:00 p.m.
Twelve CDs on Flying Fish, Windham Hill, Rounder and Sugarhouse Records, along with his books, DVD's, videos, magazine articles, and endorsements, all testify to Chris's standing as one of the elite fingerstyle composers, arrangers, and performers of the day. But even after two months on a European performance tour, Chris is eager to return to the superb sound quality and warmly receptive audience at the Casino Star.
Chris’s appearance is partially funded by OnStageUtah, a program of the Utah Arts Council. Tickets for the concert are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for seniors and students, and are available at Rasmussen’s Ace Hardware (435 S Main, Gunnison), the Sanpete Messenger Office (35 S Main, Manti), Kopy Kats Printing (35 S Main St, Ephraim), and at the theatre box office before the performance. Ticket orders of $20 or more may be purchased with Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards by telephone at 435-979-2798.
All proceeds from the concert directly support the restoration effort on this 98-year-old National Register building.
