Casino Star Theatre in Gunnison will present its first live program of 2011 on Wednesday, January 19, at 7:00 p.m. Thirty-four years after they first jammed as future rock stars while students at Snow College, the Phat Old Professors—now Snow College faculty—will present a concert to benefit the ongoing restoration of the theatre.
Dean of Fine Arts Vance Larsen and English Professor Ron Lamb—members of the original group—will be joined by Steve Meredith of the Snow College Music Faculty, Adjunct Music Faculty Rich Dixon and Greg Boothe, and Travis Osmond, of Utah’s outstanding musical Osmond Family. They advertise their music as "classic rock"—maybe an oxymoron?
Suggested donations for tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. Tickets are available at Rasmussen’s Ace Hardware in Gunnison, the Sanpete Messenger office in Manti, and Kopy Katz Printing in Ephraim. For additional information, call Diana at 435-979-2798.
