Salt Lake Tribune, 17 April 1949, page B13
A $13,000 playground, featuring a $4000 miniature train that will carry 16 passengers, swings, slide, teeter-totters and picnic grounds will be opened Sunday at 7 p.m. for juvenile patrons of the Motor-Vu theater, 3500 E. 33rd South.
Film distributors and other officials will participate in the opening ceremonies, announced Erick C. Peterson, the theater's owner and manager.
The train is a replica of the Union Pacific railroad's stream-liners. Children will be invited to use the playground and with their parents and adult friends to utilize the picnic facilities between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily.
The playground will be closed at 9 p.m., when the first show starts.
