Placing Steel at the Alhambra Theater

This morning the large derrick at the Alhambra theatre building began placing heavy steel beams and pillars for the ceiling and roof of the structure. One piece of steel frame work which will be placed across the arc of the stage weighs nine tons. It will rest on heavy steel pillars.
The concrete work for the basement and the first floor has been completed in the rough, and brick work has been started on the walls from the first floor.
