Preparations for opening of Salt Lake's new Gaslight Dinner Theater moved ahead today with the arrival of the director, John Hagan, in the city.
With him was the theater's permanent stage manager, Robert H. Barth.
Mr. Hagan is resident director of the Cherry County Playhouse, owned by comedian Pat Paulsen. In stock and dinner theaters around the country, Hagan has directed such stars as Van Johnson, Tab Hunter, Dick Gauticr, Arte Johnson, JoAnne Worley and Lylc Wagoner.
At the Gaslight Theater in Salt Lake, he will be directing Gale Storm, who has the leading role of Stephanie Dickinson in "Cactus Flower," which will be the opening production at the Gaslight Theater May 28.
Hagan has been in theater work for 20 years. He is a lecturerer, professor and designer as well as a director. He has worked at such theaters as Pittsburgh Playhouse, Lake George Opera, Indiana Repertory Theater and Ford's Theater in Washington.
The Salt Lake Gaslight will be Robert Barth's fourth dinner theater assignment. He has supervised operations in Connecticutt, and worked with such stars as Jack Guilford.
