Three persons with theatrical experience in Utah have been named to the technical staff of The Gaslight Dinner Theater, which will open in Salt Lake May 28.
The staff members are Elise Moore, wardrobe mistress, Charles N. Walters, set designer, and Thomas A. Bryce, technician.
"I was convinced when we started the Gaslight that we could find professional talent in Utah to rival the skills of anyone on the East or West coasts," said Vaud E Massarsky, executive producer, who announced the appointments.
All three have had extensive college and professional experience and worked on many theatrical productions in Utah.
Miss Moore, who has won awards for costume designing at the University of Utah, has done work on such plays as "Dark of the Moon," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Annie, Get Your Gun," "Long Day's Journey Into Night," "No Exit" and "Landscape," in addition to many other productions.
She has designed for the Pioneer Memorial Theater, University of Utah Dance Department and the Lagoon Opera House in addition to other local theaters. She is a native of Salt Lake.
Waters, a native of the San Francisco Bay area, has traveled extensively to do his set designing projects. He has worked in California, Utah and other states to do designs for such productions as "Music Man", "My Fair Lady," -"Sound of Music." "Annie, Get Your Gun," "The Odd Couple," "Walt Until Dark," "Star Spangled Girl," "Merchant of Venice," "My Three Angels," "The Sunshine Boys," "Anthony and Cleopatra," and "The Price."
He has worked at Pioneer Memorial Theater, and several dinner theaters in California. He also is an accomplished composer.
Bryce, currently working as technical assistant with Ballet West, will join Gaslight Theater as soon as his other commitments are fulfilled, Coming to Utah from the Gaslight in Durango, Colo. Bryce has worked on set construction at Pioneer Memorial Theater, Repertory Dance Theater and Kingsbury Hall.
The Gaslight Theater will open at 826 South Main St. May 28 with "Cactus Flower," starring Gale Storm. A gourmet buffet will precede each show. The theater will present "Cactus Flower" nightly, except Sundays, through July 17.
