The Ziegfeld Theater Installs New Seats Thanks to Donation

The Ziegfeld Theater is pleased to start off its fourth season of plays with new (to us) theater seats.

After being given a generous donation of retired seating from the the Jordan Landing Cinemark, The Ziegfeld Theater can now boast comfortable, reclining seats with cup holders. 

Towards the end of 2015, the theater received a phone call from a patron, John Kearns, offering free, used (but in good condition) seating that his business had acquired from the Cinemark. Having struggled to keep the original seats in proper working condition, the theater jumped at the opportunity. “It worked out perfectly,” said owner Caleb Parry. “The timing was just right. The seats were available when we had the time and space to install them without disrupting any of our scheduled performances.” Because of the generous donation, The Ziegfeld can now begin its fourth season with an unexpected bonus for its patrons.

“We’re just grateful to our community and grateful that there are people willing to donate something so large and beneficial to us. It really validates what we’re trying to accomplish in Ogden. We’re always looking to improve and grow, and this has helped us tremendously to move forward,” said Parry. 

The seating arrangement will remain mostly the same, so patrons who already have tickets for the 2016 season shouldn’t be concerned about having to adjust their seats.

The Ziegfeld Theater begins its fourth season in 2016 with a riotous musical comedy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Under the executive leadership of Caleb and Morgan Parry and the artistic leadership of Rick Rea, the theater pursues a mission of “Professional Standard, Community Spirit” as it strives to bring quality entertainment to diverse audiences in Northern Utah.
