Cinerama has thrilled and chilled its audiences with roller coaster rides, flying trips down the gorges of Zion National Park, whipping bobsled runs at St. Moritz and a train runaway down a corkscrew mountain railway.
Shooting the Rapids
What next?
In "Search for Paradise," the Cinerama film which had its premiere at the Villa Theatre Wednesday evening, the sensational piece de resistance is a tossing, swirling, spray-drenched ride down the rapids of the upper Indus River, one of the world's wildest.
Thrills Abound
Scenic, sports and aesthetic thrills also abound in the film as the Cinerama cameras hunt for "Shangri-La" in the sky-brushing Himalayas - the tiny kingdom of Hunza. Hunza has the "healthiest people in the world, a ruler with power of life or death and neither jail or criminals to fill one. It's a fascinating trip, back-grounded by the music of Dimitri Tiomkin and the powerful baritone voice of Robert Merrill.
